Building Majet: Making Ethiopian Groceries Easier to Find
A product perspective on discovery, store-specific pricing, and the details that make grocery shopping feel familiar.

Start with the shopping question
A grocery app begins with a very practical question: can I find what I need? For Majet, an Ethiopian grocery app, the product opportunity is to make familiar ingredients and nearby stores easier to explore. A beautiful catalog is only useful if shoppers can understand what they are looking at, where it comes from, and how to get it.
Make the store part of the product
In a multi-store experience, the same item can have different prices, availability, and fulfillment options. Our design priority is clarity: a shopper should know which store they are browsing before making a decision. Product discovery, store selection, and the cart need to tell one consistent story. These are product-design considerations, rather than claims about live inventory coverage.
Design the whole journey
The Majet UI explores the steps around a purchase as well as the purchase itself: favorites, checkout, order progress, and support. Each step should answer the next question a shopper is likely to ask. The principle is simple: reduce uncertainty before adding more features. That is the product direction we want Majet to express.
