Why We’re Building Feleg

Language learning as a connection to family, culture, and everyday conversation.

A reason beyond the lesson

People come to a language with different reasons. Someone may want to speak with a grandparent, help a child feel closer to their roots, or simply explore a language they have never learned. Feleg starts from the idea that those reasons deserve a place in the learning experience.

Small steps with a familiar context

The early Feleg designs explore Fidel character families, short vocabulary exercises, saved words, stories, and a learning journey. A coffee ceremony is more than a decorative image: it can provide a setting for the words someone wants to use. The challenge is to connect practice to meaningful situations without making the first steps feel overwhelming.

A direction, not a finished promise

These screens are design concepts. They help us ask whether the sequence feels approachable, whether the language is readable, and whether learners understand the next step. Speaking practice and other proposed features still need careful development and validation. Our ambition is a welcoming experience that makes a little Amharic feel like a little more connection.
